Birmingham has a rapidly growing craft scene, there’s something for everyone, so I thought I’d write a piece on the Beer Events taking place this year.
Taps Beer Festival
Returning for a third year, this time at a new location, Taps Beer Festival is a staple part of Birmingham’s Beer Calendar. This year the festival will take place in Hockley with Tap’s Twitter account describing it as being situated walking distance from The Wolf and a stones throw from Burning Soul Brewery.
This year the event will be a collaborative effort between Taps, Digbeth Dining Club, Glass House Beer Co and Bayleys of Bromsgrove. Again this one is a ticketed event, it will take place 27-28th March with tickets costing £10 (Or £15 includes early entry). The event will feature some of Digbeth Dining Clubs vendors, live music and beer, although the ticket does not include the cost of drink but does include a glass and festival program.
You can buy tickets through the link here.
Beer Central Festival
Beer Central Festival is back for a second year following the success of last years event. Ticket will gain you entry to the festival but it also includes your beer so once you’ve paid you don’t really have to worry about spending for the day, except for a few items, spirits and food.
The event features Street Food from some of the finest in the city as well as live music and a friendly atmosphere. It’s located in the Digbeth Arena which also hosts fantastic events and takes place 24th – 25th July. Early Bird Tickets are available for £42.50 with the Standard Tickets costing £45. You can also book for the entire weekend or to include early entry here.
Birmingham Beer Week
So to the big one Birmingham Beer Week returns for its third year and will take place between the 17th and 26th. If you’re not familiar with Birmingham Beer Week it is a celebration of Birmingham’s finest beer and pubs, showcasing the best Birmingham has to offer.
It’s a collective banner of events in essence with the Beer Debate a prominent feature of the event where you get the chance to listen and as questions from some of the industries experts. This is a limited ticket event and once details emerge I will share them here, the week as a whole may vary from venue to venue with some running special events which may be ticketed also but it also includes places where you can turn up and enjoy the beers on offer without the need for a ticket.
Now, you’ll probably notice I’ve not included the line ups which I can’t see details of having been released yet. I’ll keep you up to date with all the news from these events as it emerges.
